Sex, Love & Secrets (aka wtf was I watching?!?!?)

It started with some guy sitting in an office with a dead body on the floor wrapped in bubble wrap. The dead guys friend called the office, the killer answered saying “i’m back”. The show started off like a crime drama, but then it turned into 90210 type of show.. The guy who called the dead guys office used to date Denise Richards, who is now dating this guy who works at a coffee shop and is turning the 2nd floor space above the coffee shop into a night club. That guy’s ex-girlfriend spent what looked like 9 hours at the cafe and didn’t order anything but was using their wi-fi to write a novel. Well, she tried to order pancakes,  but her ex kept on forgetting to give them to her.. the murderer guy called the ex-girlfriend and said he was coming to visit her at the cafe.. then there was this black guy who apparently left Texas nine years ago and turned his back on his family. We know it’s been nine years, because the father repeatedly tells us this. His sister did the same, and the father blames the son, who left nine years ago. We know *this* because, the father and the maid of honor, (the sisters best friend since they were kids), show up to the cafe. The ex-boyfriend who works at the cafe and some other random guy, call the brother to tell him to come to the cafe asap. This cafe is like the Peach Pit, or The Max. Everyone on the show goes there to do important things.

We find out, after the Brother and Sister come to the cafe, that the sister was supposed to get married but she took off because she didn’t want to marry the guy her dad wanted her to. The dad and the maid of honor showed up to bring her home, and then they had this huge dramatic fight inside the cafe, with her talking loudly that she is a lesbian and wants to marry the maid of honor. The father blames all this on the brother, and that for nine years, everything was fine. The father then disappears for a while, which leaves just enough time for the brother to take his sister and the maid of honor to a lesbian country bar. Everyone that was in there was the stereotypical lesbian (stereotypical in a guys eye), all of them were really hot and they were grinding on each other to country music. Oh, and they had cowboy hats on too. Meanwhile, when all this is happening, the writer girl who spent a whole day writing at the cafe, meets up with the killer and then they go to her place to hang out. She shows the killer the book she is writing. Later we find out that she hasn’t shown the book to the ex-boyfriend. The killer guy comes to the ex-girlfriends house a few times, and the show tries, and fails, to hint at the ex-girlfriend being in danger of getting killed.

*Side note:: there is all this commotion about getting the club ready, people walking around with ladders and 2x4s.. if the club was supposed to have a grand opening that night, you really wouldn’t need 2x4s, right? I mean, that shit would be done already, right? Anyway, so this whole time that the ex-boyfriend is trying to get ready, and completely ignoring his ex-girlfriend by not giving her pancakes.. He gets mad at her later in the show because she left, not because she left with the killer guy, but because she left him when he needed help, yet he didn’t ask her for any help.

It was just weird, because it had some humor in it, a lot of relationship drama, but then there were scenes involving murder..

The show was called Sex, Love & Secrets, it was out in 2005

“What’s great about this country is that America started this tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you can know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think - you can drink Coke, too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good.” —Andy Warhol (via moearora)
