- driving downtown everyday, I see a billboard for a Kelly Clarkson concert at the Horseshoe casino. On the other side of the expressway, there is a billboard for a strip club. The model in the strip club billboard is posing in the same exact way as Kelly Clarkson.
- Speaking of billboards.. there’s a Cubs billboard, and I’m fairly certain that it’s Theo Epstein in a Cubs uniform. One thing i’ll give credit to the Cubs for.. they do know how to market the shit out of…. shit. Leaving any comments out about my team.. what the hell did Theo do so far? He bought the McDonalds parking lot. Ouu, and he proposed a patio in right field. This isn’t HGTV, its fuckin baseball.
- Last night at the party I was djing.. They had one of their cousins who plays the violin come and play nisiotika for about an hour. In between I was playing other Greek music. I never met the violin guy before, and I don’t think he knew me. He asked me at the beginning of the night to not play the Ikariotiko because he was going to. Fine. The girl who hired me to dj, from seeing me at other parties, asked me to play this version of the ikariotiko which I normally play during cocktails and/or dinner. Which I did.. I never play that version during actual dancing, and if I do, it is because it’s a request from the people at the party. As one of the last songs of the night, they asked if I could play that song. I did.. but the violin guy… it seemed like he thought I was inexperienced or something because he asked if I had another version… it was more the look he gave me.
- My point is… I get that you’re a music nerd but don’t be a purist in the sense that you dislike or hate different versions of songs.
